Re: Giovanni Quits?
A shame if this is true. An even bigger shame that the most talented dancer will have been forced to quit under pressure and speculation caused by an individual who couldn’t hack the hard work.
Amanda was beside herself with rapture when she met Gio and climbed him like a pole. Then she scuttled off with her thank you list which included the cleaner and the tea lady but not her partner.
She is of course entitled to feel however she feels but she really should have said something concrete. Her innuendos and obscure social media posts just stirred the pot. Not to mention her gathering with other ex parters of Gios to compare notes over coffee and buns. She knew what she was doing.
I think he's one of the most talented dancers in the show along with Kai, Nikita and Johannes.
Sorry to see him go if he does but don't blame him for leaving. Rags never gave up on him, wonder who will be their next target?
I agree about Amanda, she knew what she was doing.

I’m not a fan of Amanda but I don’t like this attitude that people seem to have towards her regarding Gio. Multiple of his partners said similar things and she is entitled to feel how she feels without having to worry about the consequences.
I'm fairly ambivalent about both Gio and Amanda and I agree with you that anyone is entitled to say how they feel but I would say about Amanda that she actually didn't say how she felt about Gio but left it to interpretation in her glowing farewell speech in which she thanked the world and his wife for her Strictly experience but left Gio out. That was about as subtle as a brick and I think I would have had more respect for her if she'd just been honest and said she didn't like him.
It’s her experience, she doesn’t owe it to anyone to explain. It can take weeks or months to step back and realize the severity of a situation. I’m not saying the claims are true, only those 2 know what actually went down but I don’t like the assumption that she was automatically in the wrong and the one to blame.

I'm gutted about it if true. I don't care at all about what goes on behind the scenes; I watch Strictly for the beauty, the dancing, the music, the fun of seeing who goes/who stays. I don't watch to see if what a celebrity has said about a pro dancer is accurate; I do, however, form an opinion about a celebrity who signs up and then has nothing good to say about the programme with the final knife being a possible law suit. Strictly is what it is...if a celeb only wants a sugary-sweet experience without concern about winning, they shouldn't sign up. The pro wants his/her work to matter...to get the celeb to a point of excellence but they can't do it alone. I'm really sorry for Gio if his experience with Amanda is what made him make this decision. He's simply a fabulous part of Strictly and will be strongly missed.

Given the abuse and death threats Amanda got for not saying anything about him, I don't think that would have been wise.
So as @Monkseal says, it looks like perhaps a very expensive game of chicken, with Gio saying 'I know I started negotiations but I'm a Celeb have offered me £100k lol' and the Beeb sending internal memos headed 'Giovanni who? our god is Neil Jones now'.

Anyway, doubtless he'll be showering in speedos on I'm a Celeb in a few months so his fans will get their fix.
I won't miss him at all, there are far better (and more likeable)dancers on Strictly. And is does seem like his ego has outgrown the show.
As another poster said upthread, it's not the Hunger Games. Celebs sign up for many reasons, and don't need to be flogged to death to achieve Giovanni's version of perfection.
It'll be interesting if he does do I'm A Celeb - there's no hiding your true character when the cameras are on you 24/7!

Rubbish! you may not care for Gio, but he is a great teacher, and very caring with those who were prepared to work as hard as he did.
Rose, Debbie McGee, and Fay Tozer were full of praise for him!
No one apart from the people involved knows what's the real situation, so I'm not judging anyone, but that part in bold isn't the compliment you think it is If a dancer can only work well with a very specific type of celeb (very talented and prepared to spend 10-12 hours a day in the training room), while all those that don't tick that box end up with a bad experience ... then he's not a great teacher to me.
A good pro should be able to work with whoever they get and give them a good experience on the show - be it training for 12 hours and choreographing challenging routines for someone like Ashley Roberts or just having some fun for a few weeks with Les Dennis by still trying to get some improvement out of them, even if their dream of winning the glitterball has been shattered before the series has even begun.

why are we treating strictly like it's the hunger games of dancing? it's an entertainment show and the celebrities that sign up shouldn't be at risk for bad injuries or be mistreated by the pros, also if people want really excellent dancing they need to stop moaning about hiring ringers because people like Layton and Ashley Roberts and Karim have the stamina and ability to perform at a standard that is just not possible for most celebrities. Personally I want a mixture and I want everyone to have a good time a contestant like Nikita Kanda was probably never going to go that far in the competition but she clearly enjoyed her time and has said nothing but positive things about Gorka as a teacher and her time on Strictly.
